Mini Metro - One Line Challenge
For the first time ever on my website, I will be posting a gameplay that isn't sims, instead I am playing Mini Metro. I recently downloaded Mini Metro and I can honestly say that it is one of the best games I have ever played. It is a very simple idea, you have to join up train/tram stations to create your own transport network; new stations are added every few minutes and at the end of each in-game week you can get a new asset for your network.
The large shapes are the stations and the smaller shapes are the passengers, the rectangles on the lines are your trains. You can have multiple trains, carriages and lines. As well as being really fun, this game is also stylistically elegant and cute. It's game over when one of your stations overcrowds. After playing non-stop for about an hour and a half, I decided to do a challenge. How long could my network last using only one line?
So, I tried it.
It was easy to begin with, only a few stations, wasn't too hard.
I was able to use all my available trains on just this line, meaning that, hopefully, the stations wouldn't get overcrowded. It was plain sailing until I started needing bridges. Of course, I couldn't have individual lines for individual stations like I normally do so every time a station appeared on the other side of the water, I needed another bridge.
I did however, get to 100 passengers without too much trouble (the passenger number can be seen in the top right hand corner, next to the clock). After a little while, I could no longer extend the track from one station to another so I had to 'rebuild' track and change the shape to accommodate new stations.
Fortunately, I was able to stop the top station from overcrowding but soon another station was at risk...
...And soon it was game over.
My metro lasted 23 days and carried 300 passengers.
