Dubai Diaries - 30/05/17
22 : 25 (GTZ) Currently in the taxi on the way back from Dubai Mall. Had an extremely busy day today; started off at Aquaventure Water Park. I went on most of the dinghy rides like 'The Surge' and I am very proud of myself as I am, in general, a bit of a nervy person around rides. After an hour or so rest in the hotel room, I went to Dubai Mall. On the way there I couldn't help but notice all the construction work still going on. It was strange to be in a 'half-finished' city and I was amazed to discover that almost all of Downtown Dubai had been built in 5 years. I wandered around the mall for a while, stopping in video game shops and books shops, before going to have dinner as the sun had set. I ended up not going for anything too exciting or exotic, just KFC. It was KFC Arabia though. At about twenty to 9 I headed outside to wait for the 9 o'clock fountain display. I wish I could of captured that moment, not just in a picture or video but everything else; the heat, the atmosphere, the way the buildings shimmered on the water like golden columns. It was truly stunning. Of course at 9 was the water fountains which was to the Mission Impossible theme and was amazing. I was blown away by it. I watched another one at 10 as I was near the fountains; this time it was to SkyFall and was just as amazing as the first one. A desert safari complete with sand boarding, henna painting and quad biking as been booked for Thursday so I am really excited about that...
