Thea - #03

 T : Emilee! I'm glad you could come...

I hug her tightly

E : Thank you for inviting me, it's nice to get to see you socially outside of work.

 T : No problem but I do need to talk to you about something work related first...

E : Of course...

I chauffeur her to the sofa and she takes a seat.

 T : So the store will be closed tomorrow.

I watch her face change and I assume she's worried about pay.

T : Don't worry I'll still pay you. Imagine it's a bank holiday...

I smile

E : Why?

I'm confused for a moment and voice my concern

E : I don't want to be nosy but why will the store be shut?

T : Oh! So you're might want to hear the whole story... I've never been sure whether I wanted to be a mum...

E : Yes...

T : Lots of people who I know are desperate to start a family and get married etcetera etcetera. But, I always knew I wanted to help people, especially children. So I joined the dots and decided to adopt. I'm not adopted but I only had my mum and we weren't particularly close. Basically I am adopting my first child tomorrow!

E : Thea! That is amazing!

 T : Thank you...

E : So do you know which child you're going to adopt or do you just go along and see? Sorry I don't really know how the whole thing works...

T : A little baby boy called Brendan...

E : Lovely...

T : For now, I'll hire a Nanny for him but in future when he's older, I'll bring him to the store.

E : It will be so much fun with a little one running around...

T : Yeah, it will...
