We decided together that Lana, Abi, Mark (Hun's dad), Susanna and Dad will know our new identities. Apparently, Abi was coming to see us today and I was waiting nervously in my bedroom when the police officer came in shouting, "Miss White, Abigail is here!"My hand shaking with excitement I turned the door handle and opened the door. I saw Abi on the other side of the room, "Abi!"
I ran to her and she ran towards me and hugged me.
"Your hair's different." I say
"Says you!" She laughs," you look so pretty!"
"Thanks Abi."
We are interrupted by Alex coming running up to Abi, she immediately hugged her too, "Oh Lou, I can't swing you around anymore!"
Alex laughed before saying, "It's Alex remember, Alexandra and Bethany..."
"Of course yes, wow... Alex and Beth. I'm ready to listen when you're ready to talk..."
I nod and turn to the officer, "We're going to talk in my bedroom."
"Okay, I'll be outside."
Alex goes and sits down to watch the TV whilst I lead Abi to my room. We both sit down on the bed and Abi begins, "So, what happened?"
"You know what happened..."
"I want you to tell me."
I tell her the whole story, from the night Hun got shot to getting this flat to the new identities.
"You've been through a lot..."
I nod, "but there's one more thing I haven't told you..."
"Go ahead..."
I took a deep breath and let Abi hold my hand," What is it Beth?"
"I'm pregnant..."
"B-but you haven't seen anyone in weeks"
"I know, I know"
"Oh Bethany, it's not... 'him' is it?"
"No, no it's not Daniel."
"Then who is- No..."
I nod and begin to sob as Abi wraps her arm around me and pulls me close to her, "It's Hun?"
"The night he died..."
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah."
"Do the police know?"
"Oh my goodness, no! I'm not telling them that I... on the night he died, in a bush... They could probably arrest me."
"Surely they'll notice."
"I'm just hoping we can get a house of our own and have Daniel locked up before it's obvious."
"Don't worry Connie, sorry Beth"
We both laughed
"I'll always be here..."
